Easter Sunday 08 April 2007 SPAGHETTI JUNCTION
Well if we thought the kids had some thrills over the past few days, it was nothing compared to them witnessing their parents navigate LA's busiest freeways in a rental car! Today we hired a car and headed north to Hollywood checking out the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood sign - bit of a anti climax with Hollywood Blvd being one of the seedier parts of town but we took our photos and then hit the freeway again, this time with busier traffic however our navigation skills in changing lanes and jumping onto other freeways was outstanding. As cautious kiwis however, we were passed by everyone else exceeding the speed limit! We headed south of Anaheim to the Richard Nixon library and birthplace spending a couple of very interesting hours there. Harry is a box of birds today however it was Dylan's turn to throw up with travel sickness and there is a bit more travel to come! Yesterday we spent another day at Disney having anther go at the highlights. Take care everyone. Love Stace, Muzz and kids xxx

You are certainly having a great time. Reminds me of the time your Dad navigated himself around and out of LA. The kids will be 'google-eyed' with all that they are seeing. Weather-wise we had a great Easter. I really enjoyed myself with relaxed time to myself. Saw Eva yesterday. Making arrangements for our trip in June. Have just come home from our closing day of bowls
Yes -Hollywood Bld is a bit seedy - and the highways pretty fast and full! Make sure you look out for Creole restaurants/cafes and try some Jambalaya (sp?)a kind of yummy rice dish and the mud crab soups with corn bread they do...there was a good one on Sunset Strip quite ethnic and low key little place opposite one of the big theatres.. Nixon's library and birthplace would be interesting however -never been there...
The weather has been great over Easter weekend and we've been surfing at Lyle Bay 3 times!! However today got progressively blowy and there is a Southerly in the post for us!!
Keep on having fun! Get well Dylan and and Harry

Dear Murray, Stacy, Dylan, Samantha and Harry,
Sounds like you are having a very nice time in America. We've just spent a couple of pleasant days in London, doing museums and are now basking in some very pleasant spring sunshine. You are braver than me driving in LA - I always get friends to drive me when I am there!
Best Trevor
Hi Burnard gang! What a cool holiday you're having and great blogging. Keep an eye out for Hollywood stars and kids, don't let Mum loose on Rodeo Drive!
Muzz, Shar told me I had to tell you ... YOU TOPPED THE ROUND!! and you're the first one to crack 200 points in one weekend (203) and had about 10 tries. She's VERY happy.
Luv Joe and whanau
